Finally....

After days, weeks, months of waiting and anticipation for the arrival of my little angel is over. The pain started on 17th July without me realising it that it was actually contraction pain till late at night where hubby discover blood show stain on the bed sheet. Pain was still bearable thought it was getting stronger and more frequent by the next day.

Called Xiao Yi the next morning and ask for her opinion on it and hubby went to tell mum. Mum and Xiao Yi both suggests we head to hospital to confirm if I'm really in labour soon. Had my lunch before heading to the SGH. Reach there around 12plus pm, first time ever SGH is so quite and not packed be it with cars or people.

The nurse and doctor at labour ward (52A) did a check to see if my cervix is opening or not while hubby waits outside the hall. Yes it's confirm that I'm having contraction but my cervix is only 2cm opened still a long way to go before i can deliver (sigh). One of the senior nurse there suggest we go for a walk nearby and maybe walking around will help my cervix to open up faster.

So we decided to head her advise and went to Vivo City for a walk. By the time when i was having a interval of 4-5 minutes of contraction pain it's already 5plus pm so we head back to the hospital again. But still my cervix is only 2-3cm open thus they suggest me to be warded as anytime if my water bag or cervix opens up i can deliver straight away.

Mum and In-laws came to visit me after hubby had done the admission. After hubby had send In-laws back, pain starts to get more and more intense and by 1plus am contraction pain is pretty sharp. Head down to labour ward and stayed there till i gave birth to my little angel in the late afternoon/early evening.

I thought i can take the contraction pain but i was wrong the pain is far worst than i imagine it would be. Was i the labour from 1plus am on 19th July till i gave birth at 5plus pm. Though out the period, besides pain i can't think of anything else (sigh). I was perspiring the whole time while my dear hubby feels cold (faint).

It was around 3.45 pm when i took epidural and it was also because of the injection my cervix opened from 4/5cm to 8cm and by that time i was already numb to the intense pain in my head (though i can still feel the great contraction pain). The nurses and doctor came into the ward after an hour and check on my cervix, it was 10cm, can start pushing anytime.

Started pushing at 4.45pm as per what i remember hearing the senior nurse says. Shortly after pushing for 10minutes or so, little angel's heart pulse dropped and this is when a bunch of doctors and nurses swam into the ward. There was alot of shouting asking me to push harder etc and that me and hubby were told that little angel might be feeling alittle stress thus the doctor is going to use vacuum to aid me to deliver.

At 5.10pm, Lebella Feng ShiXuan 冯詩璇, born to the proud parents of Eric Fong and Priscilla Ho arrived to the world at SGH, labour ward 1. Weighting 3345gms. Length 51cm. Healthy and beautiful, looks more like daddy than mummy. EPL's family bandier of joy after 40 weeks and 4 days of waiting.

PS. Thank you god for giving us such a beautiful baby, an addition to our newly start up family.
