Fengshui Tips....
Came across a very interesting article about some fengshui tips on decorations to help make 2010 a very happy and healthy year while i was browsing one of the home decor magazines i bought today. Not sure what it says on the magazine helps or not but to those who believe in fengshui might want to give it a try.It says that this year, the positive stars lie in the north, east, west and north-west, while the negative stars are believed to be in the south, south-east, south-west and north-east sectors of the home. So the first step, you might want to find out all the directions of your home before beginning to re-arranging your decors and furniture.
In the North - scholar star 4 is associated with education and heralds academic achievements or career promotions. Suggestion - It is naturally wise to have the study table placed in this area, but avoid sitting with your back to the north, best face the direction instead.
In the East - star 6 brings wealth and financial stability. Suggestion - Generate as much of the positive energy as possible with a moving water feature or aquarium. It is ideal to place your sofa here as activity and motion will stir up the good qi.
In the West - star 1 indicates career advancements and promotions. Suggestion - An aquarium, water feature or plant will trigger the power of this star. Move the sofa or other pieces of furniture the family uses often to this area to help create more positive energy.
In the North-West - Conception star 9 is good for weddings or having babies (avoid activating this sector if you're not hoping for these). Suggestion - This is the ideal location for the matrimonial bed (but if you do not wish to activate this star, simple place a decorative item here and refrain from using the area).
PS. I will post the rest of the negative stars directions and suggestions some other time.
